This channel was built of stone and long ago served as an aqueduct. A section of the channel was preserved until recently near the area of Stavros. According to tradition, Digenis fell in love with Rihaina, the queen of Paphos. She set as a condition for her to reciprocate his love that he bring water to her city. Digenis accepted Rigena’s condition and built the channel, parts of which were preserved in various areas of the province.
