The Chloraka Community Council calls on all owners of plots, fields, or other parcels of land within the administrative boundaries of the Community to proceed immediately with the cleaning of their land from wild vegetation, rubbish, and other useless materials, no later than 3 April 2026.
Please be reminded that, in accordance with Article 82(kd) of the Communities Law, every Community Council has the authority and obligation to ensure the cleaning of plots and open spaces for the protection of public health and safety.
Therefore, responsibility for cleaning such parcels of land rests exclusively with the owners, even in cases where useless materials have been placed there by third parties.
Please note that:
Owners of plots, fields, house yards, and other open spaces are required to clear their properties of wild vegetation and other hazardous materials.
Particular attention should be given to houses scattered throughout the community (holiday homes or isolated residences), where owners must proceed not only with the cleaning of their yards but also with the cleaning of land within a radius of approximately 30 metres around their residence.
Where firebreak zones already exist, they must be cleaned and maintained. Where no such zones exist, landowners are called upon to cooperate in their creation and maintenance wherever this is deemed necessary.
⚠️ Please be reminded that responsibility for cleaning rests solely with the owners, even where useless materials have been placed on the land by third parties.
❌ In the event of non-compliance by the above date, the Community Council will proceed with the cleaning of the parcels of land, and the relevant cost will be charged to the owners, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation.
📌 The cleaning cost will be calculated based on the volume and category of the materials, with a minimum charge of €70 per plot.
This announcement shall also be considered as a personal notice to all owners of land parcels within the Community of Chloraka.
