The Church of Saint Nectarios is geographically located in Emba, but ecclesiastically it belongs to Chloraka. The church was built in 1985 and is situated on government land, as it is constructed in the courtyard of the nursing home “Nefeli Taliotou Home for the Elderly,” which was built entirely at the expense of the Republic of Cyprus. The late Nefeli Taliotou donated £75,000 in 1985, which was managed by a special committee from the Welfare Office; for this reason, the institution was later named after her.
The chapel of Saint Nectarios, which was initially built with the contributions of the priestess Greece Nikolaidou to serve the needs of the residents of the institution, was consecrated on May 25, 1986. In 1996, an extension of the church was made.
The architectural style of the church is basilica with a dome. The altar is wooden-carved and consists of 14 portable icons and a narrower band with 14 miniatures.
In the courtyard of the church, a very small chapel dedicated to Saint Ephraim has been operating since 1998.
The church of Saint Nectarios has its own priest and church committee and celebrates its feast day every year on November 9.
