In 2003, Chloraka acquired another small church. The church of Chloraka donated four acres of land for the expansion of the cemetery, and in this space, this small church was built in the basilica style.
Both in Cyprus and Greece, very few churches are dedicated to Saint Ephraim, as he is a newly canonized saint. This miraculous saint was born in Trikala in 1384. He is depicted as a dark-skinned, tall, and slender monk with a pained and ecstatic gaze. The end of his earthly life was martyrdom, as he endured horrific tortures from the Turks for eight consecutive months. He ultimately passed away on May 5, 1426. His relics were discovered only in 1950. His memory is celebrated not only on May 5 but also on January 3, the day his holy remains were found.
The architect of the small church, whose construction began in October 2001, is Teukros Koulountis. The altar screen is intricately carved from wood and consists of four portable icons, which were painted by the hieromonk Ignatios.
